Color was fine - just didn't cover my grey rootsDespite leaving on for 30 minutes - then drying and putting color back on just my grey roots for another 25 minutes - it did not give me coverage. AwfulTuned my dark roots which I was trying to lighten to match my blonde highlights on the end ginger so still have two different colours in my hair. Color did very little to cover graysAfter using the product, my gray roots now look very light brown instead of the color of the rest of my hair. It did not do very well in covering the gray. I followed all the steps also. I thought I could at least have my roots covered and feel better about my hair but it looks like I am going to have to make an appointment for my hair colorist as soon as they open. Wrong color and damaged hairI had asked for a light brown and specifically said that I didn't not want red undertones. Well my hair is red!! Which is what happens when the dye has red tones in it. Also, It dried out my hair and left me with breakage. So now I have to use product all the time or it looks like I have a frizz halo!! Will not be ordering again!! Very disappointed!! Probably NotAs it was said, “trust the process;” so I did. Followed my personal instructions to a “t.” Unfortunately the tone is on the lower end of the brassy spectrum. Did order the Tint Rinse with the color package, in case there was (a slim) chance I would need it. ...well, needed it. Haven’t seen much of a tone difference as of yet. Using a purple shampoo, then a purple tint rinse (been leaving on for 8-10 mins vs the suggested 3-5 mins) followed by a purple conditioner. Have done this routine twice since coloring two days ago. Planned to give it 10-14 days before making a decision. The order process, delivery and product packaging were all quality. Can't get through to talk to someone about my colorI have been trying to submit questions about the color I recieved since my former hairstylist only recently shared my color information with me. Not what I expected, very disappointedBefore the pandemic I used to do all over blonde highlights with a cool undertone in a salon. Each visit was like $200-250. It’s very hard to keep up the blonde when the salons are closed so I bought an ammonia free box dye at Target and colored my hair in a dark blonde neutral shade. It actually turned out really nicely so I did it again about a month later. And then I started seeing all these ads about custom salon quality hair color services. So I decided to try esalon. I’ve chosen dark ash blonde shade and sent them a photo along with detailed description of my previous color and hair goals. The order was delayed by about 10 days but that was not a big deal. It arrived in a nice box and clear instructions. I have to say I read all the instructions and followed it to a t! Well, first of all, the ammonia smell was unbearable and I thought I’m going to collapse! When I washed and dried my hair I was so upset! I had orange brassy roots and the length was much lighter and warmer than what I expected. It was supposed to be a dark ash blonde! Well it was far from it. I had to research my options how to cover up this mess. I bought a color depositing deep conditioner in light brown and purple to counteract those brassy roots and cover light yellow blonde on the length. That was an additional $60 but it looks decent now. I wish I just bought one of those ammonia free natural box dyes and saved my hair from damage, disappointment and more expense. Pearl goldenMy colour went on really nicely with a pink glow to it. Since I had blonde on the mid and ends and my natural brown on my roots the colour didn't take well to my roots. This resulted in my roots being a dark blonde color and the mid and roots being dark blonde with a pink colouring to it. I had to get another colour from a friend who is a hairdresser to fix this as my hair was two colours. Overall So So...The color set is the same as the rest. I did not like the color I received because it was too dark. My overall experience was great because my husband colored my hair (although he did not like the overall dark hair color). He never would have helped if it were not for having to stay indoors. The color itself looked nice for black, but not my color. I normally go to Gene Juarez to get my hair colored, or touch up with a Semi-permanent. I thought this might be something I can do at home since going out is not possible at this time. I requested a color adjustment today. I actually logged on to cancel, but I’ll see what happens with my request. I received a second kit before I thought about making a color adjustment. Don’t plan on using. Bad Instructions, Bad ColorFirst attempt at home root color after years of salon visits. Carefully ordered color (dark brown with gold). Order info online specifically said to avoid applying to already colored ends because it would make them too dark. But then printed insert included with dye said that it was necessary to massage color through to ends for 3 minutes and that it was critical NOT to skip this step. Welp I paid a premium for custom color, I thought. Massaging through to ends must be a custom instruction too? Nope! I now have brown roots with jet black ends. Do not try this at home!Terrible service. I submitted photographs, completed questionnaire and wrote a note regarding color correction. The color formula I was sent was not even close to my hair color in my photographs. It turned my natural medium ash blond hair red. A second color correction was sent. This made my hair turn orange. Not the colour I wanted at all.The kit was nice and the instructions easy. I have naturally med brown hair. I ordered dark blonde which was one of the lightest shades esalon would allow. I followed the instruction and my hair looks the same except it has a red tinge to it. I do not like it at all. I especially don't like the red tint. Colour mixed into Grey toneI am Naturally dark blonde with mid light complexion, light freckles light blue eyes. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the color percentage combination on the chart, which After mixing color it turned grey, it did not go towards a light white color that I’m used to seeing before any of my blonde highlights color application - I had to take great pause to consider applying this mix to my hair. Especially taking an extreme risk that and did not want the finish color to look dark ashen grey. This was not what I was going for, the color mixed together gave my husband and I an uneasiness that would give a very less than attractive desired results.! The roots are white and the girl that cuts my hair said it was a "mess". It has dried out the ends and they are splitting. She cut about 2 inches off the length. She said she would have to strip the color before she could get a color that would work. I know this will further damage my hair. I need help. I have not cancelled the order just put date off. Don’t order if you are in CanadaThe company ships from California, so after a month I’m still waiting for the first shipment and they are about to charge me for the next one. Great shine but more red than before and gray only gone for a weekI tried to get an ash color to remove the red from my hair. I also wanted to cover the gray. The color turned out a dark redWhen I selected the color I wanted I asked for Violet Tones. Then I selected Violet 6.25 which came as Light Brown (Pearl Mahogany). After I colored my hair following every instruction including time down to the minute, my hair came out dark red. I did not want my hair red. I wanted light brown hair with violet(purple) undertones. I have light skin with pink undertones, so the red hair color makes my skin look very flush all the time. I even purchased the website suggested Tint Rinse color purple, so that I could maintain the purple undertones. I have not used Tint Rinse yet I'm scared or what it would due to the red color. Washes out extremely fastFirst of all when I did my color profile I said I wanted permanent and when I recieved my order I was given demi permanent. When I dyed my hair I followed the directions to a T. I actually left the the dye on a couple extra minutes. After two weeks which is about 7 washes the color has faded dramatically. I even bought the tint rinse to help keep the color and use it with every wash when it only recommends twice a week and it apparently hasn't helped at all. I'll give it one more chance. Way too darkThis came out nothing like the color swatch picture. Really hard for redheads to find a shade, I have golden strawberry blonde naturally and wanted a little more vibrant red. I'm now a brunette with a garnish red tint. So disappointed. Why do reds have to be classified into a blonde or brunette category? That should have been my first clue. Wanted Brown, got redI was happy that my grave routes were covered. But my hair is Brown with red undertones. Now it is red with Brown undertones. Thankfully, I have not been out in public often due to the virus. It did Make my hair very soft and conditioned. I will say you can tell where my Gray roots were and it did not blend the new colors at all. Ifeel like i have two lines on other side of my head. It probably would have been a great deal happier if I used the root color on my whole head instead of the color which contained no brown. Low cost, grey was gone, wong color. They even changed color based On a photo I sent which I thought was a great touch but it still turned out the wrong color. Thank goodness it’s quarantine.I dyed my hair last night. When drying it looked like I had faded pink highlights. Went into different lighting and it looked much better. This morning, I find some of the color has faded a bit, but am catching the red tones. It makes my hair color look fake. I applied according to the instructions, but still see grey. customer service?I tested hair strands but had a problem with the hair dye not depositing any color on my hair at all, despite following directions. I contacted customer service but the replies took an average of one week each, which can be understandable during these times but I was eventually ignored and have not gotten a reply for 5 weeks. Too thick, new formula is awfulYou announced a new thicker creamier formula and today is my first application with it. I found it so thick it doesn't want to come out of the bottle. How is this helpful for a roots only application? Seriously, I'd have been better off mixing it in a bowl and spooning into my roots. Why would you change? Home coloring is messy enough but having to shake the bottle down (even when keeping upside down) and having just air burp out spots of formula is even messier than a thinner mix. Wrong colour. Terrible serviceThis was my first time to use esalon and I was nervous but excited. I ended up just being disappointed. I did have blonde highlights with long roots due to lock down. I ordered a blonde full head colour. I recieved a kit only for my roots that ended up being dark brown. I emailed customer services and after 6 days I have had no response. So disappointedFirst let me say, I am a trained stylist. I just wanted to give this product a try. I took the "quiz" and stated I have very resistant gray. I also mentioned it on the comments. I even sent pictures. The color recommended by the stylist did not cover my gray and did not match my hair. My roots are way lighter than my hair shaft. I followed the instructions exactly. I've some grays that seem resistant to color!So, there are quite a few grays that are resistant to color. Also, the color could be a touch darker. MehhIt was a great presentation with really cute packaging. Easy to follow instructions and for the most part painless. Unfortunately 3 weeks later it’s really brassy and so much lighter around my hairline. It looked great the first week but it started losing its luster quickly after. It may be my fault and I might’ve ordered the wrong color for my hair. I’m not a professional and I’ll admit I was a bit overwhelmed at choosing the color I needed. UpsetI accidentally ordered just a root touch up. I called 2 days later and spoke to two different people. They said they would send me another bottle with my order since it hasn’t shipped out. Color Didn't Match-- Would not recommend this product based on the experienceThe color provided didn't match my hair and turned it red. I emailed eSalon regarding this and was informed it would never match because I have highlights. eSalon should screen those potential customers to give them warning of this. The team member then said he would ship an ash to me to take the red out and cancel my subscription. It never came. Washed out in a weekThe dye did not last, gray was showing in a week. Giving it one more try. 1st time userI was so excited when my kit arrived. I got my daughter to do it for me incase I missed anywhere. Unfortunately the brown was too dark. DisappointedQuite frankly I did not care for this product at all. It smelled intensely of ammonia, mixing two separate bottles seemed unnecessarily complicated, and my hair is dry and strangely fuzzy in the root area. While the coverage and color is decent, I expected something that left my hair feeling healthier than when I started. However the opposite is true. Ruined my hairThis is perfect if you want you hair to become a dry, horrible mess. Before using this my hair was strong, gloss and in excellent condition. Not the color I ordered.Although it covers the red that I was not liking. It is way darker than the dark blonde that I was going for. I had talked to my colorist before the order went through and she said that she was going to make it a more of a light brown. My hair is still darker than that. No gray coverageI gave a 2 star since this brand did not cover any of my gray roots. My hair takes color well. Very disappointed ESalon did not tell me it did not cover gray.
