This is the only colour I have ever used that does not fade at all. it lasts until my next colour is due and still no fade. I don't use the shampoo or conditioner as I buy them from Holland and Barrett, because the have all natural ingredients and no sulphates, which are industrial cleaners.

I have been using eSalon for at least 5 years and can say I will never use any other product. If you need to change your color they make every effort to provide a new color according to your request. I requested a new color and it was too dark. They remixed it until I was happy again. The color coverage over gray is amazing..

I've been coloring my hair for sometime. My biggest gripe was that it didn't cover my gray for very long. It just faded away. I was literally coloring my hair every 2 to 3 weeks. eSolon doesn't fade. I'm so happy with it.

Ever since I had to start coloring my hair (25 years) I constantly was faced with the problem of not being able to get the same color from a manufacturer which meant I had to chose another brand and hope to match the color, or, over a period of time my color was renamed and replaced with another shade. I never had a consistent color - it was either too light, too dark, too red or too drab. But now I have my custom color sent to me and it is the same EVERY time I get it. Each time I use it - someone tells me they love the color of my hair. I love to tell people about your product...because you have taken away the worry of what color will my hair turn out to be. I have very resistant gray but the personalized color did a superb job of coloring my gray. My first color selection was a little too dark, not the
colorist fault, my fault in my response to their questions. Please be as specific as possible. I should have sent a picture to show my current color to help in their color analysis.

I have used my customized hair color several times and love it. My hair comes out very soft, the color covers all gray, goes on easily and lasts longer than commercial products. The only "con" I would say is that it is rather expensive for me to keep up. I am on a fixed income and find that it is just getting too expensive to keep up. However, I am thinking of alternating between my eSalon color and a commercial brand just to cut cost a little.

Everything else I have used on my auburn hair has either made it look brassy or too red. E-Salon mixes my color and I can adjust it accordingly with them. Now if I could only keep those gray roots away!

If you want good coverage without having to go to the salon and want to save some $, this is for you. I just wouldn't use it often since it has a very strong chemical smell. I've been able to push my next coloring the furthest after using this product and by spraying root touch up spray to prolong the in between coloring.

I you're anything like me, you've tried every boxed hair color on the market only to be disappointed by the fading color and poor grey coverage. Almost one year ago, I received an offer from eSalon to meet with a colorist and receive a complimentary coloring. I was more than pleased when I left the eSalon studio but the next month was what sold me completely. The color lasted without any noticeable fading and the greys did not lose the color. Regrowth is my only issue so now I do it myself every 3-4 weeks. I am a VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!!!

I've been using salon for my hair color for over a year now and have gotten tons of compliments. People can't believe I don't spend big bucks at a salon. I noticed with this last order that the instructions were different. Instead of adding water to the remaining hair color after applying it to the roots, and massaging it thru your hair for 2 minuts, the instructions say to comb the color through then add water and massage the scalp for 1 minute. Why the change?

I really like the color. Even my hairdresser does, although I'm sure she wants me to have her do it!!! My problem is the grays come in quicker and quicker :) ...I wish there was a sponge or something that could fill in the grays in between coloring. The options on the market are sticky/tacky.
I recommend eSalon to everyone I know who can't afford to go to the Salon every 3 weeks

I still can't get over how easy the whole process was I was totally stressed at the very idea of having to purchase my own hair colour but the salon was getting just too expensive and to go into a store with what may or may not be a trained person was just stressed at the very idea. I had online help and never looked back or worried since.

Send a photo of yourself and info on your present color. Giving as much info as possible will ensure positive results. Easy to use. Final step is messy. I color right before showering in order to do the last step in the shower. Customer service is great if you need to speak with someone.

I have tried two colors. One for when my hair gets a red tinge to it from the summer sun and a darker one in the colder months with little sunlight. I at first thought the second darker color was a bit dark, but after waiting a day, even my husband said it was nice to see my natural color again. Therefore, I was mistaken with it being a bit dark. I thought my colorist was spot on and I honestly have NO complaints only compliments.

My hair color has always been between readily available products. Dark blonde is too dark and medium blonde is too light. So, I have mixed colors, but it is hard to get it exactly right. This product does it for you, and changes it if you want the color slightly different. They work with you until they get it exactly right. Thank you!

The difference between eSalon and regular box color is night and day. Yes, it is a bit more expensive, but you will see that difference in the color and in the condition of your hair.

I've had two formulas sent to me, both for my grow out (roots). My hair is naturally a level 7 and my lengths are level 9. I didnt see a difference after using two different custom color sets sent to me., I followed the directions meticulously and the second time I tried it on freshly washed hair!
When I lighten my hair myself using other products, I always use a 10 volume developer and I rarely leave it in longer than 15 minutes. Thats enough to lift my hair at least 2 levels and probably more if i left it in longer.
Their formula just didnt work for me

Went for darkest ash brown I’m light ginger every time I wash I’m getting lighter and lighter I’m actually horrified I’ve gone from cool tone darkest brown naturally and only wanted to get rid of my greys now I’m ginger greys not covered and I’m lighter than my natural colour I specifically said in my stylist notes I didn’t want harsh red tones and colour that lifted very red and I feel like I was given that as an inside joke disappointed is an understatement

Works great for a week or less. Everytime I color, I love it but it just doesn't last. I generally only need to do my roots. I'm sure it probably works great for others but I've actually found supermarket touch-ups and semi-permanent colors to be longer lasting and significantly cheaper. The color looks just as good, my hair feels great and lasts for at least 3 to 4 weeks (my hair grows fast). I've been using eSalon for a few years but it only takes two washes and the grays of my roots are significantly lighter than the rest of my hair. I love many eSalon product but the Custom Color Set just isn't for me.

I love the customer service and believe colorists are experienced and customer friendly.
I tried 5 times and worked with them to change my color. Looking for dark brown hair and grey coverage is not enough, I still see Grey's after following all instructions. I still like to go with them as it is ammonia free dye. I will prob give it 1 more try to order something darker.🫰

I like the Féria I use so much better!!! It’s brighter and it lasts so long the very first time after coloring that I washed it the color faded!! Especially on my roots… I want to cancel!!!

I've used your hair color a year ago, decided to give it another try because the compliments were non-stop and I loved it. I used most of the solution and noticed the bottle was warmer than when I started but I left the bathroom to set my timer and to get another towel. I walked in, the bottle had a volcanic effect with whipped color solution all over the bottle and countertop. I'm reluctant to buy again.

I sent a picture of my present colour which had root growth, that i had tried to do, this had a very warm tone. I spoke a couple of times saying that i definitely wanted no warmth to the colourist, so i was advised that a light brown with ash tones would be the best, i was only going to do the root growth although this was now a good 6 inches, but the rest of the length was fine. I paid for fast delivery but it still took about 9 days to arrive. I followed the instructions and was left with a very strong warm colour more then before. I washed it a few times and even put a blue shampoo on which didnt make any differance. I have now had to put a colour stripper on and have a fair ginger colour on my growth. No i am not happy i ended up paying £26 for a colour supposed to be tayloured to me that has made my colour worse.

I absolutely loved this color when I first ordered it, so much so that when it began to fade I immediately ordered more. I only received my root color. I was shocked by this since I used esalon in the past and the kit typically refreshes the entire color. While it’s a great product, I feel like that was there was to save money at the customers expense. I don’t think any product designed to color my hair that requires me begging customer service to include enough product to complete the task is worth it. The first kit you get is nice, but beware that this is I’ll never ship twice to you.

Not sure how there’s so many great reviews. I was pleasantly surprised with the presentation of the box and everything they sent however considering i colored my hair on 10/6 and today is 11/10 that’s not good. $4 revlon lasts longer and did a better job. Maybe because I’m a redhead but I don’t think that’s the case. This coloring made my hair multiple colors. I was grateful I did it right before Halloween. They sent a “root” color and a rest of the hair color. These colors looked like night and day they were so different. So in general, not for redheads! Too expensive and only lasts 3 weeks if that. I wasn’t planning on giving a review but I would’ve liked to have known this before purchasing so here I am. So today I’m trying the second box because I forgot to cancel autoship. I am hopeful that since I don’t have a “root” color that it won’t look as bad this time. Unless a miracle happens with this color job (highly doubtful) I will never purchase esalon again. Too bad too as I like small businesses and their presentation. Really wish I could upload my pictures. Almost looked like a clown. Maybe that’s why?!

Je suis déçue car en faisant une coloration sur mesure je pensais enfin trouver LA coloration parfaite que je souhaitais et j'ai été ultra déçue car la couleur ne correspond pas a ce que j'avais demandé. Il n'y avait pas les reflets souhaités je me suis retrouvé avec une couleur basique sans lumière. De plus l'odeur de chimique est très forte ce que je ne m'attendais pas car même les teintures de magasin ne sentent pas autant.

I was looking to lighten up my natural dark hair so I decided to give myself a try. The palette offered through the app seems limited in terms of variety of colour for my taste but I decided to give it a go anyway. I chose one of the lightest tones available thinking it would be noticiable change. I followed all the steps, I covered all my hair and waited according to the instructions but the results were far away from my expectations. It has been 5 days since I applied the colour kit and I can't see a difference between my original colour and the formula chosen for me. It's very disappointed and honestly a waste of money.

When I recieved this color I was suuuuuuuper excited. It looked great until week 3...then...there it was....suuuuuuuper hot roots. I chose a level 3 mahogany brown. My roots...well....they are a cranberry red....what the huuuuuuh?
I have since sent photos and a message to my colorist for help with adjusting my color formula to hopefully avoid this in the future.

Stated I was 50% gray, colored my hair making sure to cover grays several times to make sure they were good and saturated. Followed instructions, probably left on for 5-10 minutes longer due to application and getting ready for rinse, wash, etc. Once I was done and dried my hair, the reason I colored it were staring me in the face. Grays white and bright with no color sticking at all. I'm three weeks after color and my hair is more gray than when I was 4 weeks past due w/ color - and its dull, has no shine and looks totally flat and unhealthy - and gray. I will never purchase again. And now I'm stuck becuase I don't want to put more chemicals on my hair until at least 5-6 weeks. Have that to look forward to, six more weeks of flat, fading, super gray hair.

Didn’t feel too damaging in my hair from what I can tell, but I’ve only done test strands to test the color. Haven’t found the right one yet, so haven’t done a full head of dye yet. Maybe next time….

My request/goal was a hint of red in my medium-dark hair. This is auburn or was when I was choosing a color. A small amount of red to add a tone that was noticeable when the sun shined on my head, that was what I wanted. When I'm indoors under recessed light, my freshly colored roots look very red. A week later they are pale, almost pink taking on a glow. I'm now buying boxed ash brown to get by.
The dual process should be the perfect system to create a completed coloring for my "simple" request especially with increasing grey to deal with. Darker, more deeply, neutral covered roots is always preferable when coloring in ANY color.

I was so excited about my order. When my daughter applied my first set, it was roots to cover gray and 1 bottle of color for the rest of my hair. My roots (gray) were not colored at all which was bad enough but the color actually didn't color the regrowth as I am a medium brown and I like my color dark brown/black. Therefore you could easily tell where my gray was and regrowth was and my darker hair from about 2 inches from my scalp to the ends of my hair. I wrote in to my colorist again and sent photos, explaining what had happened and that my color should be even darker, they adjusted it.
2nd time weeks later after my adjusted color arrived we tried again, much to my dismay it still didn't cover the gray or the lighter regrowth. I wrote in again, explaining the same issue. E salon was kind they readjusted my color again and sent me 1 bottle free of charge.
The one bottle they sent was for roots and all over color.
Weeks later, my daughter applied this new adjusted color last night. After I rinsed it out then shampooed & conditioned with the product they sent, guess what? The yet again adjusted color did not cover the gray, nor did it color my lighter growth AGAIN.
I literally cried last night as I cant keep doing this and paying for this product as well as the time wasted. I love the idea, but how many times can a woman re-color her hair before its destroyed? Not much because I do have damage and had to have my hair cut between my last color and the one last night and it is still not what it use to be. Don't misunderstand I am not reapplying every 2 weeks, I am waiting the typical 5-6 weeks with a lot of gray and light brown regrowth. I am extremely upset and just want to cry again today. Yes we follow their directions to a T. Before eSalon, the product I was using from my local beauty supply store gave me zero problems and it covered everything to perfection. This has been a lot of wasted time, effort and money on my behalf.

I want it to get the color disclosed to my natural hair and to dye my ends I add photos and everything. I color my hair for so many years now and this was not even close.
They suggested dying my roots and then everything else. I DID IT! and now my hair is so much darker at least 3 shades difference and my roots have some reddish in it. THAT I TOTALLY HATE. I will wait for a little bit and I'm gonna use toner and try to lighten it.
Overall was an easy and quick application. I like how my hair is feeling but that is all.

First off, I was super excited to receive my color set. Rave reviews and quick shipping…love. I told my colorist my current hair color and the color I wanted to achieve. My natural hair color is brown, however, my hair is currently blonde. I wanted to go for a light brown. However, I would’ve been nice to know that I would need an orange or red color beforehand to get rid of the blonde. So, my hair is completely the same. Nothing at all as changed. I’ve been crying forever. Oh and also…..my volume 20 developer just EXPLODED everywhere. I was sitting in bed and heard a strange noise. I look over and the developer is on the ground with hair dye ALL over my room. My walls are now stained with hair dye (which I will get fined for so thanks eSalon, I appreciate that). My sheets, blankets, makeup, skincare, carpet, floor, walls, clothes, and blinds are all COVERED with hair dye. I highly recommend staying away from this company. When were they mention in those high-valued magazines? What, in 2010? Because they sure don’t deserve it now. I want my money back and not one of your crappy products.

I ordered this to touch up my roots from brown to black and the color lasted a few days until I washed my hair a second time and now it’s ALL gone 😭 I feel like I wasted so much time and energy. It looked fabulous for those three days though 🤪 (and yes, I used color safe shampoo/conditioner)

Although i don't think the colour suits my skin tone, it is a nice colour. And the shampoo/conditioner left my hair feeling beautifully healthy even weeks after the dye application. Look forward to finding my colour and i'm confident that my hair wont be damaged whilst discovering it.
