The process was fairly simple. I really liked the color. The only real issue I had is that it faded after one shampoo. I’m not sure if that’s the hair dye or if my hair just doesn’t absorb this color well.

Like many people, I "discovered" eSalon at the beginning of the pandemic. I have been extremely happy with their products. The results are on par with what I used to spend a fortune on at my salon, and I appreciate the ability to work with the colorists here to fine-tune my color. I decided to go a bit darker this time (with auburn undertones). The color turned out beautifully as always, and my very thin, fine hair was in good condition afterwards as per usual. Unfortunately, the color was ruined by the Light Set that was selected for this color. See separate review for that.

The cheaper products last longer, the grays around my face, the little hairs last a couple weeks. That doesn’t happen with the cheap OTC stuff. Please help.
I have been using this for years and loved it, but disappointed lately!

I really like the colour of my hair although it turned out a bit warmer and with more of a red undertone than I thought.
The instructions were great although dividing my hair in 4 sections with long and heavy hair and pinning them up was not doable as it is just too heavy and bulky to work around so went in more sections. Other than that I am absolutely happy. Brush that was supposed to come with my order was missing but the colour still turned out fine and it's even and not patchy.

The product itself comes in a great package with everything you need, however communicating what I wanted was difficult. I asked for a cool ash colour and received a warm almost auburn shade. There is no way to know what colour they have sent as there are no details on the package besides your name so it's all a surprise once it's applied.

The color was perfect and it covered my grays well. The packaging and instructions were great. The customer service was great. After just a couple weeks the gray's started peeking through and now (halfway before I'd usually touch up) my roots need retouched badly.

I’m very particular in everything I do. I deliver high standards in my work and expect high standards in return. This coupled with being a natural cynic means, in short, that I am a customer service nightmare. Products or services which over promise and under deliver are a particular bug bear of mine
Therefore, it was as much of a surprise as a pleasure to give five stars here, which doesn’t even do the product/service enough justice!
The hair colour arrived in lovely packaging, which made what is usually a chore a complete treat. It felt like receiving a present, but without any strings attached. Mood.
The stain guard and remover were fabulous additions, something which you do not get in high street dyes. Usually I put moisturising cream around my hairline, which doesn’t work and means everyone knows I’ve dyed my hair, which is a complete liberty when I’m trying to pass as ten years younger. Can hardly say I haven’t coloured it when I have a one inch brown halo around my face, can I?
The box contains two pairs of gloves which fit snugly and weren’t flimsy. The ones in shop bought boxes are thin and appear to be made for someone with hands not dissimilar to those of Peter Shilton.
Surely, I thought, there’s got to be a snag! Nothing can be this good. Can it? I smugly awaited the results, feeling certain the coverage would be poor and my cynicism would be justified. Mais, non! The coverage was the best out of all the home dyes I’ve ever used and less messy too. The consistency of the colour was also really user friendly and so by the end I didn’t look like an entirely different ethnicity, which always helps (Because in this day and age of wokery, before you know it you’ll be lynched for black fishing, a la Jesy Nelson. It’s a minefield!
To conclude, I’m a convert and you’ve just got yourself a new customer. Thank you.

What can I say. My hair was and unnatural red from the first color. The second corrected formula was good for 4 days. Now my hair is orange in the sunlight!
I can't say these colors work well. I'm really sad. I'm 65 years old with BOZO THE CLOWN ORANGE HAIR!
NIX THE ABOVE. My colors is good after the last formula correction.

Hair coverage considering I went from a bleach blonde to a dark red. Only not giving it the full 5 stars as the colour was a bit too dark for what I wanted. But I'm sure with some tweaking I will get to the colour I want.

The only complaint I have has nothing to do with the product. It is the shipping. It takes just shy of a month to get to me. I can get things faster or around the same time from China! So aside from the terrible shipping time, product is great!

The color is good and very easy to apply. I live that esalon includes step by step instructions and all the necessary tools you will need for your color application. I think it’s just me that I have in my head that I want more shiny hair but it maybe it’s not the color and it’s just my hair.

I really like the hole idea of this and the kit is so so cute but I asked for pictures to make sure I was getting the right color I wanted and of course I didn't get the correct color , so im pretty upset . I really wish It was more of like the photos I was told it would look like

I like it, it did cover a lot of my gray hair (but 4-5 didn't + some were lighter (bronze or golden color). I like the color but I wish it colored my hair lighter.

I was excited to receive my first ever eSalon kit and dyed my hair as soon as it arrived. From packaging to instructions and the product itself, I absolutely loved it! Great first impression. (I had asked for a blue/black and left notes that I really would love to see an amazing blue hue and what my hair history had been!)
I dyed my hair and waited for it to naturally dry and went outside to take a picture and get a good look. Unfortunately, the colour was not as expected. It was like a soft black but I could still see a red/brown tone to it, no blue.
So I thought I would email directly and just explain with a few photos that it didn't come out as planned, which was a shame. Within 24 hours, I had a response from Jennifer!
She was quick to reformulate the dye and said that I would see the changes on my account but also said that if I wish to use it earlier than my scheduled 8 weeks reship, I could and it was at no additional cost! Just amazing! (I also asked for her professional opinion as to when I could redye and an even quicker response was given)
I waited for my next package to arrive and I was (again) excited to see if it was going to work with the new formula and I dyed my hair once more.
The result was........ PERFECT! Black with a beautiful blue hue!! I love it and couldn't be happier with the result and the customer service! I would highly recommend them to everyone I know!

Everyone comments how natural it is.Went through lockdown and did not bother colouring but now back to colouring again..Why did I stop I ask myself.

Well there wasn’t enough color to cover my hair. So when I reached out they immediately got more color out to me; I just had to spend about a week in a ponytail till it got to me. After I followed the directions on my second color It came out great.

I saw a few messages from my stylist to confirm my requirement, however unfortunately due to illness and other things I didn't reply. My stylist issued my colour to me and it arrived in a fab box all neatly laid out and labeled, with everything you would need to colour at home. However, with this set you get stain guard, stain remover and shampoo, rather than just gloves and conditioner like you would with a shop bought.
The instructions were very clear and the process took me little over 30 minutes from start to finish. My hair although nearly black which was the problem, now has more warm brown tones making me look less washed out. The colour is even and I am really happy with it. Due to not colouring for 2 weeks since arrival i have logged on and easily changed my next shipment date. Really easy to change desired colour. Over all 5 *****

Me gusto el kit y las instrucciones muy buenas. Lo unico que al tener canas y a pesar del tiempo me quedaron algunas visibles. Mi pregunta es cuando podre retocar nuevamente el color ? Great product and salon quality but have endless shipping issues from the US to Canada. Would love to find a Canadian source for this rather than deal with shipping hassles. My last order is being held at a courier across town and I have yet to pick it up.

I do like the colour, just perfect shade, however my hair feels more tired now and dry. At the same time now matter how much I rinse, even after a few weeks worth of washes - the hair colour still keeps leaving stains on my towels.

At first, the color was a pretty dark brown, then about a week later it moved to reddish tones. I got the tint rinse knowing my hair tends to get reddish which I hate. But that tint rinse didn't make any difference. A few weeks after I colored, the color settled into a nice medium brown and really looks good. I'll keep ordering and trying to mitigate the reddish tones.

Followed directions perfectly, step by step, very carefully. The color was beautiful. Looked great. However the gray around my temples and forehead started showing after just one week. When I have my hair colored professionally, coverage can last up to 6 or 7 weeks, sometimes more. I was disappointed as I really wanted to love this brand and stick with it forever. I’d recommend esalon to others simply because it’s a great concept and far better than the boxed brands. It might work better and longer for other customers.

Easy to handle. Liked the color until I realized there was a yellowish tone. Wrote to eSalon, they changed it and now it is perfect. Unfortunately, I had to cancel my schedule because they are charging custom duties now. Makes a plus of about 10 Euro. Altogether 30 Euro. This is too expensive, I can have my hair dyed at the hairdresser's for the same amount. It's a pity though.

I had some difficulty mixing in the bottle. A large clump got caught at the top and it was difficult to mix it thoroughly. The final color was a little lighter than I thought it would be, and it didn't cover the grays very well at my temples.

This hair color worked way better than the others on the market. Better coverage, just as easy to use, and true to color. I just wish they included a cap while the color is processing. That would make it much easier. Think about including it...........would only cost penny's to do.

The color was a great match. My problem was the chemicals made my scalp very itchy. Hopefully there is a sensitive scalp formula.
Update: My formula has been changed by my colorist and it's now itch-free!

The process was easy and the colour looked amazing - all in the comfort of my own home. Only disappointment was that it took 2 weeks to receive my colour after ordering (however, I live in Australia). I have kept this in mind for my next delivery and have increased the frequency from every 8 weeks to every 6 weeks.

The custom color is what I wanted, now the gray coverage is NOT good at all after a week my grays are showing and I don’t like that. Might need to cancel. I Hebe color my hair 3 times and every time the grays start showing after one week. Not happy!!

I really love the color they worked out for me as well as the highlights. I had my daughter apply both following your instructions. The only problem is that my hair started falling off after three weeks. I had my thyroid checked and it came back okay, so I’m putting my order on hold for now. I wonder if others have had this problem before.

I've taken one star off because I was hoping for an Ash brown but unfortunately got a chestnut brown. It's a pretty colour but not what I was after. Perhaps my hair throughs out reds when it's dyed. So I'm back to the drawing board to find my perfect Ash brown! Lovely packaging and personalised products 😍

I went to use my hair color and the color was tinged w/white and had a cloudy appearance. I checked to see if the bottle was damaged but it was unopened and intact. It was unusable. I needed to cover my gray that day because I had a special event to attend. I was forced to go out and purchase a boxed color. Needless to say, I was not a happy camper.

Found the colour I love 💕. The mix is great thick and easy to apply. However, this time it did not cover all my greys at the front , will need to leave in a little longer. Whether these are extra stubborn unsure .

The colors are nice. Doesn’t leave your head itchy or hair feeling like straw. I deducted 1 star for the crappy instructions and the lack of actual communication. The instructions and communication seemed like the customer service person just simply read and posted from a preset menu. The instructions I was given were incorrect for what I needed as well.
